Getting Over Jet Lag

Jet lag is one of the things you don't want to suffer with on your holidays or even when you get back so I wanted to share with you today a post on how I dealt with jet lag for my New York trip. The time difference for the UK is 5 hours ahead of New York, so when it was 6pm in New York I wanted to be fast asleep and at the joyful time of 3am I wanted to be awake and doing stuff!

The first thing I did was stay awake on my flight over the America, as my flight was 6pm meaning in the US it was only 1pm I needed to be awake and stay awake for the flight. This was a little difficult mostly towards the end of the flight but I had plenty of films and things to do to keep me occupied and to stay awake.

When I got to New York I made sure I stay awake as long as possible and try to eat the right type of meals that was suitable for that time zone and this helped a lot. Ok so one night I did fall asleep at 8.30pm but I was up nice and early the next morning!

I found that drinking lot of water helped me a lot with the tired nauseated feeling and eating at the right times helped me a lot as well. I feel like if you don't look at the clock and work out what time it would be if you were at home that helps as well.

For my flight home it was at 11pm which meant it was 4am UK time so it was nice and easy for me to sleep on the flight but I also set an alarm to wake me up at UK 8am time so I could start getting back to normal before I had even got back home.

Hopefully these tips will help you out a little, if you have any tips leave them below in the comments!
