Getting to Santa Monica is rather easy just hop on the blue Expo line to Downtown Santa Monica and then follow the handy finger posts to the beach or shops. It's a very laid back place to go and the people here are friendly and fun, there is so much to see and do here that it's a full day out kinda place to be.
The beach is normally full of people so take a walk and explore before finding a spot to sit and relax, it stretches out and is surrounded by hills and mountains which make it look impressive and very photogenic. The pier is the main attraction here with fun fair and amusement arcades, don't forget the many places to eat on the pier to.
If you walk right from the pier and up a street or two to Main street you will reach some shops and more restaurants, this is a great place to explore and it's a long street heading into Venice with plenty of shops to explore and see. You will also find it a little bit more peaceful than the main strip at the beach so it's ideal for families who need some downtime from the hustle and bustle.
I adored exploring Santa Monica and would love to go back!
